Proper aftercare is crucial to maintain the longevity and appearance of your eyelash extensions. Here are some important guidelines to follow for lash extension aftercare:

Avoid getting lashes wet: For the first 24 to 48 hours after the application, avoid getting your lash extensions wet. Water, steam, and excessive humidity can weaken the adhesive and affect the bonding process.

It's best to avoid activities like swimming, saunas, or excessively hot showers (without googles) while wearing lash extensions. Heat and moisture from these activities weakens the adhesive bonds dramatically.

Wear eye protection if in close contact with intense heat: hot ovens, hair dryers, lighters or fireplaces can singe the tips or flatten the curl of you lashes.

Be gentle with your lashes: Treat your lash extensions delicately and avoid rubbing, pulling, or tugging on them. Rough handling can cause premature shedding or damage to both the extensions and your natural lashes.

Avoid oil-based products: Oil can break down the adhesive used for lash extensions. Therefore, it's important to avoid using oil-based cleansers, makeup removers, or skincare products around the eye area. Opt for oil-free and lash extension-friendly products instead.

Use a lash wand for maintenance: Gently brush your lashes with a clean, dry mascara wand or a specialized lash brush provided by your lash technician. Regularly brushing your lashes helps to keep them neat, untangled, and in their proper place.

Be cautious with eye makeup: If you choose to wear eye makeup, opt for oil-free and water-based products. Avoid mascara on bottom lashes if possible. Instead, focus on eyeshadows and liners that can be easily removed without excessive rubbing. It's a MUST to cleanse lashes with a soft brush and lash cleanser if you wear makeup.

Avoid sleeping on your face: Try to avoid sleeping directly on your face, as the friction and pressure can cause the lashes to become dislodged or tangled. If you're a stomach or side sleeper, consider using a silk or satin pillowcase to minimize friction.

Maintain regular touch-up appointments: Eyelash extensions have a natural shedding cycle, and to keep them looking full and beautiful, regular touch-up appointments are necessary. I recommend 2-weeks between appointments. Please note that clients must have at least 50% of their extensions left to qualify for a fill appointment.

By following these aftercare guidelines, you can help extend the lifespan of your eyelash extensions and keep them looking full between fill appointments.
